RESTAURANT PROGRAM

Since its inception in 1998, “Dining with Friends”, with its good friends and great food, has raised thousands of dollars for the benefit of the AIDS Action Coalition and it’s services, and has brought hundreds of Huntsville residents together to enjoy a fabulous evening of fine dining in private homes around the city. Last year’s event included 39 private host dinner parties and raised over $50,000. Dinner guests are invited to attend a champagne and dessert reception which is held in Historic downtown Huntsville. Along with the champagne and dessert reception, a live and silent auction is held during the reception offering items painted by local and regional artists, as well as donated items that are auctioned off during the course of the reception.

One of the most inviting parts of the evening is hosting or attending one of the many private dinner parties held prior to the reception. Of course, not everyone has the opportunity to receive an invitation from someone hosting a dinner. In an effort to expand the dining experience into the community and offer additional avenues for individuals to attend, we are pleased to announce that two local and very established restaurants, 801 Franklin and Green Hills Grille have agreed to participate. Each restaurant will be hosting an “by invitation” dinner celebration sponsored by the restaurant and the AAC. The restaurant dinner parties will offer an opportunity for hosts wishing to include dinner guests or individuals who may not be attending one of the private parties, a dining experience. Each restaurant party will be sponsored by a collective group of DWF hosts and all that is needed to attend, is for you to request an invitation. A tax deductible contribution is requested.

To attend one of these dinners or to receive additional information on Dining with Friends please contact Mary Elizabeth Marr at 256-536-4700 or Dan Halcomb at 536-1707 or email us at memarr@aidsactioncoalition.org.

I can assure you it will be nothing short of a spectacular evening filled with fun and fellowship. The restaurants are planning quite the evening of festivities for all attending. Along with the DWF committee and the Board of Directors of the AAC, we look forward to your participation in helping to make this a very successful evening and one that will help in fight to cure aids.

With Best Regards, until a cure is found…….
